ABOUT JORDAN

Hi there! My name is Jordan (they/he), and I’m a Los Angeles-based educator and theatre artist originally from the Bay Area. I have worked as an education professional for over 10 years: as an educational theatre director/producer/stage manager, a humanities tutor, and a performing arts program coordinator. I began tutoring professionally over 5 years ago and have worked in performing arts education for most of my professional career.

I completed a BA in Theater Arts from Azusa Pacific University in 2013 and a Master of Arts in Community-Engaged Education and Social Change from Claremont Graduate University in 2023.

Since I was 10 years old, I’ve been involved in theatre as a performer, director, producer, playwright, assistant stage manager, wardrobe supervisor, and more. I’ve always loved reading and writing, so tutoring in English seemed a natural fit when I began professional tutoring several years ago! I spent 6 years learning French, so I feel confident teaching elementary French, as well. I’m also a major history buff, so I’m always excited to help students with history homework. Acting, public speaking, essay writing, academic mentoring…the list goes on! I just love to teach.

More than anything, I am passionate about learning. I love helping students find new ways to learn; there’s nothing better than witnessing a student’s face light up when they get excited about learning something new or mastering a new concept! I’m especially passionate about collaborating with students to discover transformative, personalized methods for instructional learning to help them not just excel in but become enthusiastic about their education. I am equally passionate about making education accessible for everyone, regardless of background, and dismantling obstacles to accessibility for all learners!
